Being that the pandemic continues to place people in an uncertain space. I must report that the Grand Canyon University Residencies for the year 2020 that were set to take place at the Grand Canyon University Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona, will no longer take place at that specific location. GCU organizers are diligently working to find an alternativ, germ and contaminated free location where the residencies can take place, so that doctoral students such as myself, can obtain physical experience, as this second residency will be the start to the dissertation writing journey that will lead to committee assignment, constructive feedback, social networking, and a plethora of experiences and opportunities. So, until further notice, residency dates have been set but there is not set location of where these residencies will take place. I will stay tuned until futher notices. Until then I will continue to actively engage in course work.

Reports are showing that this is an uptick in COVID-19 cases in several states. Reports has suggested that the state of Arizona has reached its records number of cases in a single day-24 hours. Florida has 2600 new cases as of today. Brazil, as 35,000 cases were reported in 24 hours for those persons tested, but what about the persona who don’t get tested, symptomatic or asymptomatic.
People.are ignoring social distancing. People are nor wearing masks; they think that they are less susceptible to attack the virus, but little do they know they can, and they will, which will result in the virus being transmitted to others. Reports have shown that this viral plague is power; it continues to modify itself through person to person transmission, which is why it’s so challenging to develop a definitive vaccination.
You see people in public setting reconnection with people they do not live with, absent-masking hugging and kissing. They gather in restaurants, parks, outdoor malls, bars, on the streets, now casinos, or any place that has reopened for business. We are not in a business as usual state yet. We remain in a pandemic state, a worldwide pandemic. Not only that, but we are also facing global racial tensions that jas caused people to hit the streets and partaking in strategic protests. Most wearing masks while some completely exposed.
Wearing masks has become part of our daily attire, social distancing has become a routine practice particularly when we go out on public. What aspect of this is comprehensive to so many people who love and breathe the same air as everyone else?
Given that so many people refuse to abide by social rules, there will continue to be a spike in cases, a spike in hospitalizations, which will unfortunately lead to an anomaly of what could have been avoidable deaths. People’s irresponsible behaviors, those of all ages, are manufacturing murderous and manslaughtering tactics. How many people will it take to loose their lives and loved ones before people really get it. So people need visuals, like in the case of George Floyd where the world witnesses the breath being miraculously sucked out of him. Will people who are dying from COVID need to be televised for people to grasp the seriousness of this ghostly and swiftly moving disease.
Here in Nevada, the uptick exists, as the state has not been spared. Reopening businesses and casinos is only making situations worse, as it is expected that approximately 200,000 Americans will lose their life to the page by October 2020, and they think it’s okay. It is a notnuntil a person becomes exposed and me succumbed to harsh symptoms that that they will truly get it. Yes, I do understand that the economy is dying, just as the people living in it, but how many lives will be sacrificed to rebuild the economy back to a stable state.
We don’t know. No one knows. Not even economists. Most of their reports have been guesstimates, anticipatory into 2025 or longer of when we will get back on our feet and unemployment rates again reach a lower percentage.
So, all in all, the most important takeaway from this is to ”wear your mask,” social distancing or not. They have become a necessity if you don’t have a mask, invest in one, or ask for one. People would be happy to assist, especially of it means saving your life, theirs, and others. Refrain from going out until you have fulfilled the obligation to assure that everyone is safe. Wearing mask should no longer be voluntary but mandatory.
Will you show up and show out. For most, no for all people in the world this need to chafe for the better. People do not only need to stand up to police brutality, but they need to stand up to systemic racism and humanity. We are all humans and live in one America, one world. Most people turn their backs to change even if its for the better. Most people refuse to engage in sensitive topic conversation because they are not sure how to start it or response to it. Well, SURJ has made the topic a bit easier. This site provides information about racism to all persona irrespective of color. Race is a sensitive topic but it must not be avoided any longer. People who wish to seek a greater understanding of racial injustice, profiling, and how to eradicate or eliminate race inequalities visit the SURJ website where everything is laid out in layman’s term. if your questions are not answered you are welcome to ask. During these current times, chanting voices and peaceful protesting reigns the nations. If you are going to lift your voice silently at least do it in a well-informed mannerism and allow yourself to reflect on your attitudes and behaviors because even contactless, nonphysical, unintentional, and unconscious biases and prejudices can elicit hurt, induced anxiety, stress, and even death. Knowledgeable is power and it we all are more astute in what systematic racism consist of and how to combat it. We as a whole can make the world a better place, respectfully.
This year you have reachEd a milestone that so many people were denied. This yearIn 2020 you have reached a destination where people where deterred or faced toad blocks. Today you have accomplished the greatest success by fighting through a pandemic, social isolation, stay-at-home orders, risks of and victimization. Our 2020 grads, you the next generation, you our future have set the bar higher for those who wish to follow in your footsteps, the generation that will come after you, the generation they now looks up to you for guidance and more support. Today we continue to live in a disparagingly diverse world where all people are not treated the same compassion or the same dignity. Today there continues to be an outcry for equality not only among races, but among sexuality, pay, opportunity, healthcare insurance and treatment, and among a treatment of those considered to be others or aliens. You as class of 2020 did this together, in unison, without deterrent, but with the profundity that this will show and prove to the world that I can do and I will do. This year, in 2020, you did. You all have become graduates in your own right. You have acquired an accolade they is irrevocable and irreversible. You have become a better you and you have shown and proven that you have the wherewithal to take on challenges. You have the wherewithal and strength to push through any barriers, to maneuver under, around, under, or over any hurdles that is put in your path. You as graduates have kept your eyes on the prize and have accomplished a goal that attributed to your increase self-actuality and self-efficacy. Future endeavors and plethora of opportunities lie ahead and will provide you with choices. Don’t let this be you final accomplishment. Continue to navigate the world like you own it, like Beyonce say, create your own stage so they others can watch you perform. Show your talent. Show who and what you are capable of. Even in the midst of the naysayers and haters, let that be fuel to your fire that allows you to continue to fight for yourself, others, and what your believe in. The world is changing and will continue to evolve We can worry about those persons with retrospective attitudes and dispositions. We have to be own own leader. We have to fight our own fight. We have to master what others said that we could not. We have to to be self-determined, disciplined, and objective. Class of 2020 you have won. Continue to win. The power in you cannot be weakened unless you allow it to be. Give no one else control over your life and destiny. Never regret your accomplishments or regrets. Keep being the person you have learned to be. Continue to be a SELF-master and set goals. Class of 2020. I am so proud of you and wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors and pray that you continue to thrive and strive to always be the better you in every way. Congratulations class of 2020.
It is not what we as people are doing it is what some people have been program to belief and taught how to behave.
You extract from it what you will but regardless of the content no one should be afraid of the other person based on their physical characteristics. If we all stand united and worked together, so much could be accomplished and the world could produce a great deal of tranquility, all skin colors aside. We are one and until we realize it, there will always be a divide And inequalities in the faces of those who feel as though they are superior or privileged.
Can we define what these terms mean. Some one please chime in. I beg of you.
