  • The Eclipses of Life

In life, we all experience an eclipse where, at one moment, we shine our brightest, only to have something or someone come along and cast a shadow over who we are and what we stand for, thus stealing our shine.

We must understand that we will forever face ebbs and flows, but how we come out of those situations matters the most.

Therefore, when you experience your next eclipse, know that it’s not the end of the world and that your shine is not stolen, as it is only temporarily distorted. Know that you are passing something or someone is stuck at a point in their life and you are taking from them the life lessons offered only to learn so you can become a better version of yourself. While life may get dark and gloomy temporarily, that minor distraction will result from you living and gaining such experience momentarily and being able to swiftly move past that moment and shine brighter than ever before.

  • Rich vs. Poor – Part 6

What is the meaning behind asking,

“I wonder what the poor people are doing?”

Conveying such questions can help rich and poor people shift the dynamics of these terms and how they apply to life situations. Defining what being poor or rich entails will help overcome the social stratification of solely associating such compelling footings with financial wealth. Individuals must understand that being rich or poor fits various personal characteristics, such as being healthy, educationally, psychologically, emotionally, occupationally, physically, and spiritually stable. Knowing when and how to apply richness or poorness can change viewpoints and insights regarding life and living. They can see that every person in this world is both rich and poor in terms of their own rights.

When individuals grapple with the concept of others contributing to their richness regarding various facets of life, they understand that being poor does not always equate to being economically successful or unsuccessful. Let’s take for example, life and death. We equate death to happiness, thus being emotionally rich. However, when we examine death, we never associate it with being poor, even though the person has loss everything he or she lived for, even their life.

  • Rich vs. Poor – Part 5

What is the meaning behind asking,

“I wonder what the poor people are doing?”

Various financially rich and wealthy persons fail to comprehend and may never admit that the less fortunate contributed to their substantial prosperities, even their less fortunate self. So, when asking such a question, it should be directed toward wondering how the persons are doing that got you to the point you are today, where you can experience richness and wealth. Redirecting the question can also help you better understand yourself and combat your inner demons, get over yourself, and your need for belonging because even financial comfortability is factored in with being significantly poor in all other areas of your life. So, when asking the question, “I wonder what the poor people are doing?” Instead, ask the question, “I wonder how I am doing in all facets of my life?” Check in with yourself before you look to check in on others, even those that may not matter to you. Ask yourself, “Am I really rich or significantly poor?”

  • Rich vs. Poor – Part 4

What is the meaning behind asking,

“I wonder what the poor people are doing?”

George Horace Lorimer quote: It is good ...

The objectionable and repellent comments and questions, “I wonder what the poor people are doing,” often come from broken and unfulfilled individuals or those who are truly lonely at the top. They lack authentic love, support, relationships, friendships, marital or partnerships, family and social qualities, and connections to thrive and flourish. Respectfully, they are unhappy or miserable, so they project their sadness on others while living fictitious and fabricated lifestyles. They think money can buy everything and bring happiness. But money can only buy so much. Correspondingly, even the wealthiest persons in the world are not fully rich and still find themselves looking for long-term quality relationships and happiness, as in many ways, they still fall at the higher end of the poor spectrum when you bring into the equation essential life elements such as emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and happiness riches.

The Protected Rich and the Unprotected Poor – A Tragic Gap | The Review of Religions

Most monetarily affluent and regrettably insecure individuals mentally thrive by engaging in downward social comparison. They use this technique to cope with their own pitfalls. They have a dire need to compare themselves to others they think they are financially and socially superior to or have power over. They practice the downward social comparison phenomenon because they are attention seeking, egotistical, need to fit in, to be liked, to boost their self-esteem and self-worth, to be part of a group or clique, and to feel good about themselves, namely because they really don’t have all of their ducks in a row and are psychologically unfortunate. Nonetheless, they are only monetarily rich, so they flaunt it.
